We have a couple of locations where we will be able to start tournaments. We will be following the guidelines set by the Hosts, who are making sure we follow the guidelines set by the Governor. To start, spectators will be limited to 1 spectator per player. The players will not be in the dugout, but spread out 6' apart outside the fence line down their side of the field. The spectator/parent will sit with their child. There are other social distancing rules. NO SEEDS will be allowed at the field. The game times will be spread out so that teams will not run into each other coming and going to the field. The home plate umpire will be 6' behind the pitcher. Players cannot shake hands, do high 5s or fist-bumps. No after the game line up. Just wave to the other team, get your stuff and go to your car so that the next team can come in. The next team waits in their cars until they see the game is over and the team has left the field.
Our focus will be on getting our kids back out on the field and playing baseball - not on winning championships. For the first week or two we will have a 5 run limit per at bat. We know most teams have not been able to practice much if at all, so let's just play some ball! Once we see how things are going we will adjust.
Right now I am working with MARA and WCWAA as hosts. As other associations become able to host we will add more locations.
Owner of HQ4Baseball and Sponsor of Carolina Challenge Baseball League
CCBL has worked with Charlotte area Youth Baseball Associations to run Challenge Baseball tournaments since 2005. We hold tournaments at 6 different age groups: 7U, 8U, 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U. Teams are formed mostly by associations from the greater Charlotte area and these teams join CCBL and play in our tournaments. Primarily our tournaments are Sunday Only events, with each team playing 2 games, however we do hold some Weekend Tournaments.
Tournaments are hosted by local associations whose teams play in the tournaments. They include Steele Creek Athletic Association, South Charlotte Recreation Association, MARA, Pineville and more. If your association is interested in hosting, contact us for information.
CCBL holds Youth Baseball Tournaments in Charlotte during the Spring Season which runs from March through early July each year. We also have a Fall Season which runs from the end of August through early November.
